Laguna Lovin’

I will always have a special love for Laguna Beach. I fell in love with my husband here, got married overlooking the Pacific and since living only few minutes away I always love coming here for a fun beach day, a sunset cocktail on “The Deck” or even a little overnight stay at one of our favorite hotels. As a girl from a big city Laguna feels like a quiet beach village to me with all its cute boutiques, coffee shops and galleries. It also reminds me of a miniature version of my beloved Sydney, since it has mountains as well as beaches, I am in love with this combination, it makes me feel like I see all the beauty of the world in one place, it will always be so special to me. This time my husband surprised me last minute that we not only have a “parents’ night out” but that we would also stay in a hotel, so we did not get the chance to book our favorite hotel, the “Surf and Sand Resort”, where we spent our wedding night, since it was fully booked, but my hubby found an adorable little boutique hotel right next door with the same amazing views and the same beach access.

We stayed at the “Capri Laguna”, which would be perfect for a first time visitor of Laguna Beach since its location is absolutely amazing. Just a few steps from the beach, a few steps to the famous “Rooftop Lounge” and even a Subway across the street that delivers to your hotel room 24/7 either to your towel on the beach or your hotel bed, lol. They had fresh baked Chocolate Chip cookie waiting for the guests at the reception, the Greek hotel manager was very charming and extremely sweet to us and informed us right away that they offered Starbucks coffee for breakfast, which made me immediately fall in love with the hotel. The Capri is right on Pacific Coast Highway, the entrance as well as the parking lot however were hidden in a side street where I found an adorable little blue door, so cute and typical for Laguna.

After checking in we strolled through the streets of Laguna and I helped the local flower shop watering their cacti.

Afterwards we took a quick dip in the hotel pool and got ready for our night out. We had planned to have drinks at the Rooftop Lounge and a nice dinner somewhere else but ended up staying at the Rooftop until the sun had gone down spectacularly as it usually does during Springtime in Laguna. We sat at the bar and had Margaritas and a Whiskey drink called “The back porch” which hubby really enjoyed, some ahi tuna, chips and guac. If you ever find yourself in Laguna, please watch the Sunset from this place, you cannot make a table reservation as it is more of a beach bar on a roof, but if you come early enough in the evening, you will for sure get a great seat and the most amazing sunset views, maybe you are lucky and see dolphins and even whales jumping in the waves.

The next morning we had a yummy breakfast at the hotel and headed straight to the beach, just a few steps down the stairs of the hotel, we passed a cute outdoor shower to cool off and enjoyed an amazingly peaceful morning on an almost empty beach – paradise! The black high waist bikini I wore was by Hotmiamistyles.com and I loved it.

We found a little nook in front of the cliff wall that had the most beautiful natural lighting and called it the “Blue Lagoon”. Here are some of the shots we took in our lagoon:

The water was amazing and I wish I could have stayed all day at the beach enjoying the waves.

The striped dress I wore back to the room is by topshop, I bought it at Nordstrom and I wear it all the time.

After checking out of the Capri we decided to have lunch at Splashes, the amazing seaside restaurant at our favorite, the Surf and Sand Resort Laguna Beach. Needless to say, we had an amazing time, fantastic drinks and the best food. The view is absolutely breathtaking, take a look:

My favorite cocktail of all time: La Bonne Vie – The Good Life.

As always we had the most amazing time in Laguna Beach and I hope you enjoyed these pictures and they make you wanna visit this beautiful place.

Love always,

Sarah
